Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Technician III - NWSCDD-18-0262-F

Bowhead is seeking an Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Technician III for our contract in Dahlgren, VA. UXO will provide UXO support services at locations onboard NSWCDD where munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) and/or material potentially presenting an explosive

hazard (MPPEH) are known or suspected to be present.

UXO Technician essential functions will include:

• Range maintenance, range clearance, and munitions responses conducted in accordance with NOSSA Instruction 8020.15 (series)

• Specific operations also include UXO support for safety escort, anomaly avoidance, surface grading, trenching, anomaly investigation, and excavation/removal of subsurface debris

• May also provide administrative support in conjunction with UXO support operations, including preparing/modifying and submission of UXO/Site Work Plans, Health and Safety Plans, and Final Reports.


• Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Technician with at least eight (8) years of experience

• Reconnaissance and classification of UXO

• Identification of U.S. and foreign guided missiles, bombs and bomb fuses, projectiles and projectile fuses, grenades and grenade fuses, rockets and rocket fuses, land mines and associated components, pyrotechnic items, military explosives and demolition materials.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
