BAE Systems SCA Engineering Technician III (Shore Air Traffic Control Systems) in Saint Inigoes, Maryland
BAE Systems Inc. is looking for an experienced technician to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting shore-based Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team providing technical services in support of the Customer's Air Traffic Control Systems. Qualified candidates will:
Perform site survey's in support of the development of Base Electronic Systems Engineering Plans (BESEP's) and Installation Design Plans (IDP's) for the civil Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Instrument Carrier Landing System (ICLS) installations at various Naval Air Stations throughout the country and worldwide.
Apply advanced electronic techniques, principles, and precedents to perform or oversee the installation and certification of the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and shore-based Instrument Carrier landing System (ICLS) at various Navy and Marine Corps Air Stations worldwide.
Utilize engineering and electronica knowledge to develop potential designs for new components and solutions to complex problems, submitting designs and solutions to engineering personnel for approval.
Work from drawings, sketches, and explicit verbal instructions to compile parts lists, generate schematics and engineering drawings, and develop test and work instructions.
Utilize equipment which requires interpretation including, but not limited to, computer aided tools, multimeter, signal generator, frequency counter, and spectrum analyzer to troubleshoot and perform routine measurements on electronic components, assemblies, subsystems and/or systems.
Use standard test equipment and follow prescribed test procedures to test for proper equipment operations and repair or replace defective parts and components as required.
Extract technical data from various prescribed sources and prepare such data as required.
Repair and maintain the ILS and ICLS test beds.
Troubleshoot and repair Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems; primarily the ILS and ICLS.
Exert frequent physical energy, occasionally exposed to disagreeable conditions.
Travel to remote sites throughout the country and worldwide, working extended and weekend hours as needed.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Skills and Education
Completion of U.S. Navy Electronics "C" school, U.S. Marine Corps Electronics MOS, Electronics Technician Certification, Certificate in Electronics, or Associate in Electronics Engineering Technology
At least 4 years of related experience with complex electronic systems, to include at least 1 year of experience in Navy or Marine Corps Air Traffic Control Systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
Experience with standard test equipment; specifically multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
Experience with test plans, procedures, drawings, and wire lists
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Ability to move or lift objects weighing up to 40lbs
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Preferred Skills and Education
Experience working on ATC systems, to include navigational aids
Knowledge of FAA regulations, policies, and guidance
Experience with Instrument Landing System (ILS)
Experience working on airfields
Flexibility to learn other ATC and Landing Systems
